• The candidate must have a +2 degree or its equivalent in science, physics, and mathematics with 100-100 full marks at the certificate level, as well as a minimum grade point average of C or second division in each subject. Or,
• A level: The candidate must have taken science courses in physics and mathematics with a minimum grade of D in each subject and 100-100 total marks. Or,
• CTEVT- Candidates with a diploma are required to have taken physics and mathematics courses worth 100 to 100 points and received a second division. Or,
• Foreign Universities: Applicants must have obtained an equivalence certificate from the Curriculum Development Center for the appropriate level.
• Pass the Entrance Exam (35 Marks).

• The students should have completed a higher secondary level degree (+2, PCL, or any) in any of the subjects recognized by Tribhuvan University.
• Students need to appear in the entrance examination conducted by Tribhuvan University (for selected programs).

Students with Higher Secondary Education Examination Pass Certificate (HSEEP), hereafter only HSE) or Proficiency Certificate Level of Tribhuvan University (PCL) or equivalent to HSE/grade 12 pass are eligible for admission in B.Ed program. In addition, they need other requirements for the admission in different major subject specialization areas which are as follows:

1. Nepali Education

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Nepali major with at least 200 marks

2. English Education

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with English or Linguistics major

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with 90% marks in General English

   • Or, candidates with HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL must secure 50% marks in the Entrance Examination conducted by the respective department of the campuses

3. Mathematics Education

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Mathematics Major containing at least 200 marks

4. Science Education

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects with at least 100 full marks in each subject

5. Health and Physical Education

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Health & Physical Education

   • Or HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Science or Population or Home Science or Nursing and any other subjects

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL without health and physical education background must pass the physical fitness related entrance test conducted by the respective department of the campuses

   • The candidate without physical disability will be eligible to study health and physical education

6. Population Education

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Population Studies or Geography or Economics or Health and Physical Education or Community Health or Science or Mathematics or Home Science or Civics or Social Science or Nursing or Commerce

7. Geography Education, Economics Education, Political Science Education, and History Education

   • HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL or its equivalent from any Faculty

Eligibility for selecting minor subject
Except science education major (Biology), minor subjects areas are open to all students irrespective of their proficiency study areas in Grade 11 and 12 or PCL. Only those students who are majoring in physical science can select biology minor. Students are required to select minor subject areas that should be different from their major subject areas.

• You must have completed 10+2/A Level or equivalent (with Biology as a major subject) from a recognized board or university.
• Pass the entrance exam conducted by Tribhuvan University with a good mark to get your name on the college merit list.

• The students should have completed a higher secondary level degree (+2, PCL, or any) in any of the subjects recognized by Tribhuvan University.
• Students need to appear in the entrance examination conducted by Tribhuvan University.

Any candidates who have completed 10+ 2 or equivalent securing minimum 'C' grade in all subjects of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible for admission in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Biology program of Tribhuvan University. 

Admission criteria:

A student seeking admission to the B.Sc. program:

Must take a two-hour admission test offered by the Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), TU.
Candidates who score at least 50% on the entrance test are eligible to enroll in the program.
Students will be admitted based on the basis of their entrance examination scores.
Candidate must follow all application processes.

The candidate submitting an application for admission to the BBA program should have:

• Successfully completed a twelve-year education, or its equivalent, from a university, board, or other organization recognized by Tribhuvan University.
• Achieved at least second division in the 10+2, PCL, or comparable program, with a minimum D+ grade in each subject in grades 11 and 12 and a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 1.80 or greater; and
• Followed all application requirements.

The applicant for admission to the BBS program:

• Grades in 11th and 12th grade must be at least D+ with a CGPA of 1.8. Or,
• Second-division marks in 10+2, PCL, or an equivalent grade in any discipline are the required minimum. Or,
• You can also apply if you are a student awaiting your grade 11 or grade 12 results. At the time of admission, however, they must present their grade 11 and grade 12 passing certificates.

A student who seeks admission to the BIT program:

• Should have completed a twelve-year education in any field or equivalent from a university, board, or institution recognized by TU.
• Should have at least a second division in their +2 or equivalent OR a ‘C’ grade or CGPA 2.0 in all subjects in Class 11 and 12 by taking English and Mathematics for 100 marks.Or,
• Passed A level in any subject with at least a ‘D’ in English and Mathematics.Or,
• Completed the 3 Year Diploma in Engineering program taking both English and Mathematics from CTEVT.
• Candidates who failed (NG) at least two topics in the 12th or comparable test and filled out the examination application form for grade improvement would be permitted to apply for the BIT entrance examination.

• The candidate must pass Grades 11 and 12 with a CGPA of 2.0 or more and a D grade in each subject. Or,
• The candidate must pass PCL, 10+2, or an equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum of a second division.
• Pass the entrance exam conducted by Tribhuvan University.

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology Education (BICTE) program, applicants must:

• Have successfully completed 12 years of schooling (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification from a university, board, or institution recognized by Tribhuvan University.

• Have secured at least a C grade in each subject of Grade 12 with a minimum CGPA of 2.0, or obtained second division marks in 10+2, PCL, or an equivalent program.

• Fulfill all necessary application procedures as specified by the university.

Admission Process

1. Written Test (CEAT)

Eligible candidates are required to take the Central Education Admission Test (CEAT), which is conducted by the Faculty of Education. The test adheres to international standards and evaluates applicants in the following areas:

• ICT skill and interest

• Language comprehension

• Logical reasoning

• Educational philosophy and awareness

Test Format:

• Total of 100 objective questions

• Sections and Weightage:

  • ICT Skills – 40%

  • Mathematics – 25%

  • English – 15%

  • Educational General Knowledge – 20%

📝 To qualify for the next phase, applicants must score a minimum of 40% overall in the CEAT.

2. Interview

Candidates who meet the CEAT cutoff will be shortlisted for an interview. Only those shortlisted will be invited for the interview and considered for final admission based on their performance and availability of seats at the respective campus.

The students applying for admission to MBS course must have successfully completed the BBS programme or a bachelor degree on any discipline from Tribhuvan University or from any other University recognized by Tribhuvan University.

Admission Procedure
Students applying for the MBS program must fill in the application with all details of their personal information and past academic records. The selection of students shall be based on CMAT. The test shall be based on the GMAT and GRE format. The admission test shall be concentrated on testing verbal ability quantitative ability, business and economics and general awareness. There shall be altogether hundred (100) questions in the CMAT containing 25 questions in each section. Students must secure a minimum of 40 percent in the CMAT in order to qualify for the admission.

Candidates who have completed a B.Sc. degree with a major in Physics from Tribhuvan University, or hold an equivalent degree with the same specialization from a university recognized by Tribhuvan University, are eligible to apply for admission to the M.Sc. Physics program.

To gain admission to the M.Sc. Physics program applicants must appear in an entrance examination conducted by the Central Department of Physics, Institute of Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur. Admission will not be granted to those who fail to attend the entrance exam or do not achieve the minimum required score.

The candidate who have passed B. Sc. Degree with major in chemistry from TribhuvanUniversity or have received equivalent degree with chemistry as major from anotheruniversity recognized by Tribhuvan University shall be considered eligible to apply foradmission to M. Sc. Chemistry.

Admission Criteria:

An applicant seeking admission to M. Sc. Chemistry must appear in an EntranceExamination of two hours duration conducted by the Institute of Science andTechnology, Central Department of Chemistry, Tribhuvan University. The applicant whofails to appear in the Entrance Examination or to obtain a minimum qualifying score willnot be given admission.

A merit list of the qualified applicants will be prepared on thebasis of marks obtained by them in the entrance examination. Admission of the studentswill be based strictly on the merit list and on the enrollment capacity of the CentralDepartment of Chemistry and other Campuses.

The M.A. Nepali program is open to applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree from any university recognized by Tribhuvan University, regardless of their subject of study.

Individuals who have earned a bachelor's degree in any field from Tribhuvan University or any accredited university with a minimum of 100 marks or equivalent are eligible for postgraduate study in English. Furthermore, graduates from any university in a nation where English is the mother tongue and who have received equal graduation level accreditation from a postsecondary institution are eligible to pursue postgraduate courses in English.

Entrance Examination as required by the Dean‘s Office, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.Admissions will be based strictly on merit

Students possessing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in economics from TU or any other university recognized by TU are eligible to apply for the M.A. programme. Students with backgrounds in mathematics, statistics, and management may also apply.

Student must pass the entrance exam and admission is based on merit. 

A student holding a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following subjects recognized by Tribhuvan University is considered eligible to apply for admission:

• Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, Nepalese History, Culture and Archaeology, Psychology, History, Home Science, Geography, Economics, and Political Science

• Any discipline from faculty of Education, Management, and Law

• Any discipline from institute of Medicine, Engineering, Forestry, Agriculture, and Animal Science

An applicant seeking admission to M.A. Sociology must appear in an Entrance Examination of one hour’s duration conducted by the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Tribhuvan University.

Applicants who fail to appear in the entrance exam or do not obtain the minimum qualifying score will not be admitted. Admission will be strictly based on the merit list and the enrollment capacity of the Central Department of Sociology/Campus.

Candidates for the MA in Population Studies program must hold a bachelor's degree in any field approved by Tribhuvan University. Students must pass an admission exam in order to be accepted.
