BSc Geology

Any candidates who have completed 10+ 2 or equivalent securing minimum 'C' grade in all subjects of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible for admission in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Biology program of Tribhuvan University. 

Admission criteria:

A student seeking admission to the B.Sc. program:

Must take a two-hour admission test offered by the Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), TU.
Candidates who score at least 50% on the entrance test are eligible to enroll in the program.
Students will be admitted based on the basis of their entrance examination scores.
Candidate must follow all application processes.

It is a four-year yearly degree program that incorporates theory, laboratory practice, fieldwork, and report writing. This degree program's duration was increased from three to four years beginning in 2069 B.S. to give students with an international quality of education at an affordable cost in Nepal.

This undergraduate bachelor's degree program focuses on the physical and chemical nature, structure, and geological processes of the earth, with a thorough understanding of earth surface processes, earth materials, tectonics, rock formation processes, and paleontology, including petrology, engineering geology, structural geology, hydrogeology, and climate change.

  To empower, encourage, and develop professional, intelligent, and enthusiastic geologists to work as researchers in geological laboratories, corporations, and industries studying the earth, evolution, landforms, and other related issues.
  To develop effective graduates capable of applying geology techniques and expertise to solve applied research or geological challenges.
  Students will be prepared for practical employment as geochemists, geoscientists, and meteorologists, as well as for professional and successful careers.
  To educate students with the capacity to recognize, define, and comprehend scientific methods, as well as critical thinking abilities in geology and related fields.
