Students with Higher Secondary Education Examination Pass Certificate (HSEEP), hereafter only HSE) or Proficiency Certificate Level of Tribhuvan University (PCL) or equivalent to HSE/grade 12 pass are eligible for admission in B.Ed program. In addition, they need other requirements for the admission in different major subject specialization areas which are as follows:
Nepali Education
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Nepali major with at least 200 marks
English Education
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with English or Linguistics major
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with 90% marks in General English
Or, candidates with HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL must secure 50% marks in the Entrance Examination conducted by the respective department of the campuses
Mathematics Education
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Mathematics Major containing at least 200 marks
Science Education
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects with at least 100 full marks in each subject
Health and Physical Education
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Health & Physical Education
Or HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Science or Population or Home Science or Nursing and any other subjects
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL without health and physical education background must pass the physical fitness related entrance test conducted by the respective department of the campuses
The candidate without physical disability will be eligible to study health and physical education
Population Education
HSE / Grade 12 pass or PCL with Population Studies or Geography or Economics or Health and Physical Education or Community Health or Science or Mathematics or Home Science or Civics or Social Science or Nursing or Commerce
Geography Education, Economics Education, Political Science Education, and History Education

Eligibility for selecting minor subject
Except science education major (Biology), minor subjects areas are open to all students irrespective of their proficiency study areas in Grade 11 and 12 or PCL. Only those students who are majoring in physical science can select biology minor. Students are required to select minor subject areas that should be different from their major subject areas.
To receive a Four-Year B.Ed., each student must successfully complete 22 courses. The courses are classified into four groups: 'A' Communication Skills, 'B' Professional Cores Areas, 'C' Specialization Major Courses, and 'D' Specialization Minor Courses. Group 'E' contains Teaching Practice and Practicum. Table 1 provides data about the course structure.

Since 1996, Tribhuvan University (TU) has offered three-year Bachelor's programs with yearly examinations in the faculties of Education, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Institute of Science and Technology. Bachelor programs at these colleges and institutes now last four years, including an additional year. In 2072, the Faculty of Education (FoE) will offer a four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with two specialty subject areas (major and minor), replacing the three-year B.Ed. program with a single specialization area.
Students pursuing a four-year B.Ed. program must specialize in one subject as a major and another as a minor. They can choose from Nepali Education, English Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education (physical science), Health and Physical Education, Population Education, History Education, Geography Education, Economics Education, and Political Science Education.
Students can specialize in Science Education (Biological Science), Health Education, Physical Education, Vocational Education, Primary Education, Early Childhood Development Education, Non-formal Education, or Education Management as a minor.
The four-year B.Ed. curriculum, which includes a yearly assessment system, prepares instructors to teach two secondary topics.
