The primary goal of the Master of Business Studies (MBS) program is to prepare students to become competent managers who can meet the growing demand for higher-level management roles in various organizations. Upon graduation, students will be capable of functioning effectively as managers in sectors such as business, industry, government, and non-governmental organizations, both domestically and internationally. Areas of specialization may include accounting, marketing, finance, and general management.
The MBS programme specifically aims to:
Develop knowledge and skills related to the business environment in both national and international contexts.
Encourage entrepreneurial capabilities to drive effective change in the Nepalese society.
Develop research capability in students.
Prepare students for advanced studies and research in management-related disciplines.
The MBS program at the Faculty of Management (FOM), Tribhuvan University (TU), emphasizes practical skill development through strong theoretical foundations. The program is structured to enhance managerial and entrepreneurial abilities, enabling students to address real-world challenges with insight into economic, social, and political environments.
The two-year (60 credit hour) program helps students strengthen their knowledge and management competencies while fostering a deep understanding of both national and global business issues.
The MBS program is based on the student-centered learning approach. The general teaching methodology of the program includes interactive lectures, students’ presentations, case studies, and projects. The teaching faculty shall determine the appropriate teaching-learning methods suitable for each course.

In case a student remains absent in internal examination due to serious illness will given one-time opportunity to appear in the exam if he/she is able to produce an authorized medical certificate. The make-up exam shall be held prior to the semester-end examination.
