About Kathmandu Engineering College
Kathmandu Engineering College (KEC) is a private college affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU) in Kalimati, Kathmandu. The institution was founded in 1998 and is Nepal’s first ISO: 9001:2008 certified college. It is an autonomous college in terms of administration, staff and teacher recruitment, and college development, and it is led by a team of outstanding board members. Since its foundation, the college has grown in size and stature.
The KEC site extends across 30 ropanies—land leased and controlled by the college—in Kalimati, Mulpani, Jay Bageshwori, and Sukedhara, and features all of the amenities needed to promote a healthy academic atmosphere. The college’s accessibility is one of its most notable advantages since it is easily accessible by public transportation at any time.

The KEC campus is comprised of well-organized departments, a well-equipped library, a student amenities center, a multipurpose hall, an administration block, specialized labs, and clean strolling pathways and lawns.
Kathmandu Engineering College combines academic knowledge with equal parts leisure and hard labor. Along with our excellent curriculum, you discover a plethora of life information here.
Highlights
It intends to investigate research-based educational methods through research, seminars, and presentations, as well as the ongoing production of research publications. On July 6, 2013, the office released its first official publication, the “KEC Journal of Science and Engineering” (KJSE). This publication is a collaboration between the faculties of the college’s many departments, including the Departments of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
The journal’s major goal is to encourage the extension, further development, and dissemination of information in science and engineering for the benefit of academics. It also serves the objective of encouraging and implementing R&D-based firms.
Our experience reveals that yoga has instilled in our students and faculty members positive attitude, the importance of hard effort and patience, as well as strong recall power. Aside from these advantages, yoga sessions have assisted students in improving their physical health and dealing with issues such as neck and back discomfort, vision difficulties, and sleeplessness.
Microsoft’s most major direct contribution to KEC is the free distribution of Genuine Software. The majority of us are unconcerned about the implications of using pirated software, and we lack the financial resources to maintain all of the real software that we use. Microsoft’s method has enabled everyone to obtain legitimate software worth tens of thousands of rupees for free.
The establishment of a students’ technology club encourages other students to arrange IT-related events. All students, new and old, as well as alumni, are entitled to a username through MSPs, which assist in logging onto the main server for valid keys to all Microsoft products. Aside from software distribution and training, numerous additional activities are held on a regular basis to assist students grasp the different technological advancements that are taking place in the globe. Several national and international speakers lead discussion events at our campus on a regular basis.
The college includes an e-learning facility where students may download tutorials, notes, and other materials. For student clearance, E-Clearance has been made available. Students may now use an E-Attendance system to track their attendance in class in real time.
Within its grounds, the college has established two Wi-Fi zones: the Library and the Canteen. Even during recess, students may use the internet and enhance their knowledge.
Under library guidelines, students may borrow course books and utilize reference books from the library. Over 50,000 course/reference books, text books, and course manuals are housed at the KEC library. We have e-learning capabilities and an ftp server (file transfer protocol) at the library where we host online resources.
