Eligibility / Admission
Applicants must pass the Purbanchal University (PU) B.E./B.Arch. Entrance Examination and have completed I.Sc. or NEB (+2 Science) or A level or Diploma in Engineering (3 years) or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English) with a minimum ‘C’ grade in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from any recognized academic institution with a minimum of 45% marks or GPA 2.00 in aggregate.
Scholarship
- Full scholarships are available for students in each program who have a minimum 75% or 3.4 GPA in their +2 (Science) or I.Sc. or Diploma in Engineering, as well as the highest grades in the entrance exam.
- Scholarships may be awarded to students who are financially poor, diligent, and disciplined.
- Scholarships of 100%, 50%, and 25% are awarded based on the grade sheet in the semester examination.
About Khwopa Engineering College
Khwopa Engineering College (KhEC), a Bhaktapur Municipality initiative, is Nepal’s first community-based engineering college. KhEC was founded in 2001 A.D. (2058 B.S.) in collaboration with Nepal’s prestigious Purbanchal University. It was founded with the goal of making Bhaktapur a center of excellence, intellectualizing the entire society via engineering knowledge.
The college’s mission is to provide the nation’s engineers and architects with solid theoretical and practical knowledge, competence, and skill. It is committed to offering high-quality education at a low cost to people from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
KhEC began offering bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering (4 years) and architecture (5 years) in 2001, computer engineering in 2002, and electronics and communication engineering in 2003. As a result, beginning in 2005, it offered an ME in Earthquake Engineering and an MSc in Urban Design and Conservation.
KhEC is well-driven forward by prudent administration, professional and motivated academic faculty, solid physical and academic facilities, and strong community support. The aims are well manifested through regular lessons, in-depth practical tasks, field studies, trips, report writing, and internal tests, all of which are carefully managed and are recipes for each student’s success.
