At the start of each semester, students must register for courses from the relevant institution on their own. Only in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the principal, may registration in the absence be permitted. Pokhara University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program aims to provide students with basic knowledge and practical skills in several areas of business administration. It also aims to strengthen students’ intellectual ability and managerial skills through business and other social science courses. Furthermore, the program assists students in developing the necessary attitudes and qualities for managing corporate functions.
Every lecture, tutorial, seminar, and practical class must be attended by the student. To account for late registration, illness, and other unforeseen circumstances, the attendance requirement will be a minimum of 80% of the classes actually held. If a student misses more than four weeks of class without authorization from the appropriate authorities, his or her name will be taken from the college roll.
The academic achievement of a student in a course is evaluated in two stages:
Internally, by the relevant faculty member, via quizzes, tutorials, lab work, home assignments, class tests, class participation, term papers, formal internal examination, and so on.
Externally, through semester-end examinations administered by the Office of the Controller of Examinations. Each internal and external evaluation (semester-end examination) is given 50% weight. Internal and external evaluations must be passed independently by the learner. The final grade is given based on his/her overall performance in both internal and external evaluations.
If a student’s performance falls below the minimum standard, he or she will be marked as NOT QUALIFIED (NQ) in the internal evaluation. Such students will not be permitted to take that semester’s final examination.
Pokhara University uses a letter grade system with four points. Students will be assigned the following letter grades:
Grade | Grade Point | Description |
A | 4.0 | Excellent |
A- | 3.7 | |
B+ | 3.3 | |
B | 3.0 | Good |
B- | 2.7 | |
C+ | 2.3 | |
C | 2.0 | Satisfactory |
C- | 1.7 | |
D+ | 1.3 | |
D | 1.0 | Minimum Requirement |
F | 0 | Fail |
Students must complete an independent capstone project that includes fieldwork and empirical analysis. Finally, the students must create and submit a report on their work in the approved format to the authorized person/body. The goal of these project works is to help students improve their research skills, notably in data collecting, processing, analysis, and report writing. The relevant authority will assess these reports.
Students must complete an internship that has been approved by the college. The goal of an internship is to offer students real-life, on-the-job experience and the ability to apply theoretical principles in a practical setting. When determining internship placement decisions, the student’s interests and desired areas of concentration are considered.
A student should do the following in order to graduate:
