Although Pokhara University (PU) was first envisioned in 1986, it wasn't until 1997 that it was formally created by the Pokhara University Act of 1997. The Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal are the Honorable Minister for Education and the Incumbent Honorable Prime Minister, respectively.
