Candidates who have successfully completed any of the following examinations are eligible to appear in the entrance test:
Proficiency Certificate of TU in any subject.
Grade 12 in any discipline from institutions recognized by TU.
Equivalent examinations recognized by the government.
Candidates for the MA in Population Studies program must hold a bachelor's degree in any field approved by Tribhuvan University. Students must pass an admission exam in order to be accepted.
Student who wishes to get enrolled in the programme will be required to sit for entrance examination as prescribed by the University. The applicant should have at least Bachelor's degree with major in Journalism/Mass communications. A group of 40 students will be taken in for each semester programme. Each practical class will consist of a maximum of 20 students.
To be eligible for admission to four-year BA English Major, students will have completed and received a higher secondary certificate (10+2) or equivalent degree in any discipline or stream from any institution recognized by Tribhuvan University.
The M.A. Nepali program is open to applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree from any university recognized by Tribhuvan University, regardless of their subject of study.
Historically, Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus was founded on 4 Bhadra, 2018 BS with three female students in the Guthi Sansthan building in Putali Sadak. This campus was once known as Ratna Rajyalaxmi Girls’ College. Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus is located in the center of Kathmandu, Pradarshani Marg, in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. It sits on around 8 ropanis of land, with the Exhibition Road to the east, Adwaitmarga to the west, Kathmandu Model Hospital to the north, and the Law Campus to the south.
Classes were only held in the morning shift back then. It provided Intermediate Arts Courses with Humanities and Social Sciences majors. Girls from higher caste homes in Kathmandu Valley were educated. It was promoted to BA level during the time of Girls’ College in 2021 BS. In 2024 BS, the college relocated from Putali Sadak to Pradarsani Marga, where it still stands proudly now, providing essential knowledge in numerous departments of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Ratna Rajyalaxmi Girls’ College has been affiliated with Tribhuvan University since 2024 B.S. It became a multiple college in 2025 after adding a management curriculum to its humanities offerings. It administered the Management program until 2030 BC.
In 2031 BS, the college became co-ed and available to all Nepalese families by changing its name from Ratna Rajyalaxmi Girls’ College to Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus. It was later known as RR Campus. Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus has been acknowledged as a center of Humanities and Social Sciences since 2031, and it is still a prominent component campus of Tribhuvan University.
Since 2037 B.S., Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus has been running IA classes in three shifts with a variety of majors to address student pressure. Humanities and social sciences courses blossomed in the three shifts with the dazzling picture of the Ratna Rajyalaxmi Campus. In the beginning, the campus only offered BA-level programs in all topics offered in IA since 2038 BS on the morning shift. Similarly, up until the 2072 BS academic session, RR Campus offered BA-level courses in all three shifts. Since 2073, it has reduced its evening shift BA program. It is now only running BA programs in two shifts, namely the morning and day shifts.
