Eligibility Criteria

  1. Be a Nepali or foreign national with at least three years of work experience and hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum two years) in any field, with at least 45% marks or a CGPA of 2.0 (out of 4);

OR

  1. Hold a Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 40% marks or a CGPA of 2.0 (out of 4) from a university recognized by Kathmandu University;

OR

  1. Have six years of work experience and a Bachelor’s degree (minimum two years) in any discipline with at least 40% marks or a CGPA of 2.0 (out of 4).

More About This Program

The Master in Public Policy and Management (MPPM) program is designed to equip students with a strong understanding of both the theory and practice of public policy and governance, with a focus on Nepal’s policymaking context. This 2-year course helps students become responsible professionals who can navigate complex policy issues and recommend effective solutions for public and social challenges.

Students will learn how to use various tools and models to analyze the policy process, evaluate different strategies, and suggest improvements.

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Understand key public policy and governance concepts, especially in the Nepali context;

  • Gain solid knowledge of research methods (both qualitative and quantitative) for detailed policy analysis;

  • Analyze complex policy issues, explore options, and effectively communicate recommendations to stakeholders;

  • Apply strategic leadership and decision-making skills to improve public sector outcomes and overall efficiency.
