When submitting an application for admission to the BITM program, students

• Successfully completed twelve-year schooling or its equivalent from any university, board, or institution recognized by Tribhuvan University.
• Minimum D+ grade in each subject in grades 11 and 12, with a CGPA of 1.80 or above; secured at least second division in the 10+2, PCL, or similar program
• Completed all application procedures.

Admission Criteria

Written Test:

Eligible applicants are needed to take the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT), which is administered by the Faculty of Management. The exam will adhere to worldwide testing protocols and standards. It covers topics such as Capability to communicate, Quantitative aptitude, Logical thinking, and General understanding.

The CMAT will have one hundred (100) objective questions, with twenty (25) questions in each part and a total weightage of 100 points. To be eligible for the interview, students must score at least 40% on the CMAT.

Interview

Applicants who score higher than the cut-off point in the CMAT will be considered. Only those on the shortlist will be interviewed and admitted.

The Faculty of Management at Tribhuvan University offers the Bachelor of Information Technology Management (BIM), formly known as Bachelor of Information Management (BIM), a four-year, eight-semester degree that combines management and information technology courses. The goal of this course is to give students the opportunity to enhance their IT abilities while also applying the theories and ideas from a broad, integrated curriculum that includes topics like computers, informatics, business basics, and critical and analytical decision-making.

Mission

The goal of FOM’s Bachelor of Information Management (BIM) program is to create information technology (IT) professionals that are socially conscious, innovative, and goal-oriented. The BIM program is meant to give graduates the abilities and qualities necessary to be proficient and productive information technology professionals.

Objective

• In order to create efficient information systems to address real-world issues in the corporate environment, IT personnel must be trained in the use of computers and computational methodologies.
• Improve students’ knowledge of data management systems and object-oriented software design techniques.
• By fusing management abilities with information technology, you may give pupils professional training.
• Prepare students for further postgraduate studies in information management both domestically and abroad.
• Teaching Pedagogy
• Class lectures, group discussions, case studies, guest lectures, role play, research work, project work (individual and group), assignments (theoretical and practical), and term papers are all part of the general teaching methodology. The teaching faculty will select a teaching methodology based on the needs of the course.
• At the beginning of each semester, the responsible faculty must establish a thorough course overview and work plan, as well as suggest the fundamental text and other reference materials for efficient teaching-learning of the course modules.
• Internship
• During the final semester, students will be assigned to organizations where they will work for eight weeks. Based on his or her work in the relevant organization given to him or her, each student must write an individual project report in the required format.
• The internship will be evaluated based on the organization’s confidential report, project report, and report presentation. The report is due at the conclusion of the eighth semester. Students must get at least a “C” in the internship. The internship carries the equivalent of three credit hours.
• Examination, Evaluation, and Grading System
• The semester system will be used to carry out the BIM curriculum. The normal curriculum will take eight semesters to complete. Internal (ongoing) evaluation and external (end-of-semester) examination will be weighted at 40% and 60%, respectively.
• FOM will be in charge of the semester exams. The student’s final grade will be determined by his or her overall performance in the internal and external examinations.
• Passing Grade and Grading System
• Tribhuvan University conducts an examination to assess students’ final performance. Students must get a minimum of a ‘B’ or a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 in the internal evaluation to be eligible to take the semester examination. To pass the semester test, the student must have a minimum grade of ‘B’ or a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.00. The following is the grading system:

• Makeup/Retake Exam
• The make-up/retake test will be held in accordance with the semester requirements.
• Attendance
• Students must attend all theoretical and practical sessions, assignments, study tours, field trips, seminars, and presentations as required by the course on a regular basis. To be eligible for the semester examination, a student must participate in at least 80% of such events.
