Candidate must have passed Proficiency Certificate Level Nursing with 50% or CGPA 2.4 in aggregate from a recognized institute. Candidate must be registered in Nepal Nursing Council and should have at least 1 year experience in nursing practice after registration. Students for the program are selected according to the merit list of entrance examination conducted by Institute of Medicine.
Must have completed Certificate level/Diploma in Nursing with at least 50 percent marks and be registered in Nepal Medical Council.
The candidate must pass the BNS or B.Sc. nursing from a recognized institution with one year of working experience and must pass the entrance examination on a merit basis. Candidate must score a minimum of 50% (Pass Marks) in the Entrance Examinations conducted by the Medical Education Commission to be eligible to be on the merit list.

Tribhuvan University (TU)'s Maharajgunj Nursing Campus (MNC) is a public component campus under the Institute of Medicine (IOM). It is situated on the grounds of the IOM/Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. Beginning as Surendra Bhawan Nursing School under the Directorate of Health Services in 1956 AD (2013 BS), the institution later became a part of TU with the implementation of the New Education System Plan. It is recognised as one of the first nursing schools in Nepal.
The campus offers nursing and midwifery education at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. B.Sc. Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS), Bachelor of Midwifery Science (BMS), Master of Nursing (MN), and PhD in Nursing are among its current programs.
