IOE officially increased the fee for Bachelor Engineering courses

A few weeks back, we reported that the Institute of Engineering Studies (IOE) of Tribhuvan University is increasing the fee for Bachelor Programs (Engineering & Architecture) from this year onwards.

Now, IOE has officially announced the new fee structure for all Engineering and Architecture Bachelor programs. The new fee structure for 4 years of Bachelor of Engineering and Architecture is NPR 7,75,420 for full fee seats. It is NPR 4,56,540 hike as the fee from 4 years till last year was just NPR 3,18,880.

However, this new fee structure doesn’t affect last year’s students and this new fee structure will be implemented from this year’s new admission only.

Likewise, the regular seats (scholarship) students will have to pay NPR 83,420 (4 years). For foreign students, the fee is NPR 15,99,320.

This is a 120% fee hike which is massive. However, there is a provision of increasing the fee by 10% every year (from 2053) but TU was running the BE course with the same fee every year. So, this new fee makes sense.

There are 5 constituent campuses of IOE which are the Pulchowk Campus, Thapathali Campus, Purwanchal Campus, Pashchimanchal Campus, and Chitwan Engineering College.
