The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Nepal has announced a ban on entrance preparation classes run by private institutions.
According to the ministry, many institutions have been running “Entrance Preparation” courses before school and higher education admissions. The government says these programs create unnecessary financial burden on students and families and negatively affect fair access to education.
As per the decision, all such entrance preparation classes must be stopped from Baisakh 1, 2082 (mid-April 2025).
The ministry has also requested local authorities to monitor and take action against institutions that continue running these programs against the rule.
