An applicant must have:
A 4-year B.Sc. Forestry degree from Tribhuvan University or any university recognized by Tribhuvan University.
A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the undergraduate degree.
Applicants seeking admission to the M.Sc. Community Forestry program at the Institute of Forestry are required to appear for an entrance examination. This examination, mandatory for all Nepalese candidates, will consist of objective-type questions covering general knowledge, forestry-related topics, and subject-specific content. The total score for the exam is 300, and candidates must obtain a minimum of 120 marks (40%) to pass.
The final merit list will be determined by combining 80% of the entrance examination score with 20% of the aggregate marks from the candidate’s B.Sc. degree. In contrast, foreign applicants will be selected based on their academic performance at the bachelor level, without the need to take the entrance exam.
If any seats allocated for staff or foreign students remain unfilled, they will be transferred to the full-fee paying category.
