The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is an undergraduate medical program that provides comprehensive knowledge and practical training in medical sciences, clinical diagnosis, disease prevention, and patient care. The five-and-a-half-year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program at Kathmandu University includes a mandatory one-year internship. MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. The Nepal Medical Council and Kathmandu University's requirements were strictly adhered to in the norms and criteria that were accepted.
Ten Medical Colleges, affiliated with Kathmandu University, provide an MBBS program in Nepal.
The first two years of the KU MBBS program are devoted to studying basic medical sciences. Clinical sciences are also introduced throughout these years. Students rotate thru different medical specializations during the course of the next two and a half years to acquire the knowledge and abilities of clinical medicine. Internships are part of the last year.
